Revolve

And yet another year children were born

And yet another year Mumbai was ravaged in rains

Yet another where people said bye to each other

And yet another where I remained the same

And yet another elections took place

Another year where people were up in arms, and quite again

And yet another year you left your stuff at my place

And yet another where I didn't speak

Deep Breathing: An energetic journey

We are living in an age where the individual potential and betterment have been given a lot of importance. This ageage is of the individual and his potentialities. Not the state, not the nation, not a group but the individual, working his way to make himself better. To find out for himself, what is right, what is wrong for him. What helps him grow and heal.

In a matter of about a year or so, the power of deep breathing has made me aware a lot of things inside my body. Also, I have been introduced to many people who have discovered a lot of things in the field of body psychotherapy, for example, Wilhelm Reich. This man and his theory of "body armouring" has struck a chord deep within me. He had discovered something which is in congruence to the ‘chakra’ system of Yoga and Tantra.

All thanks to Osho. Due to him, I have come across many fascinating people and things in life.

This theory of body psychotherapy is simple; sexual energy is our life force and due to it being stuck and immobile it cannot rise higher as it should.  We cannot experience life to the fullest.

The blocks in the bodies have been developed throughout one’s life and a lot of repressive attitudes of our society are responsible for the formation and solidification of such blocks and ‘armours.’ These blocks don’t let the sexual energy (which is considered our primal life force) to reach towards the higher parts of our bodies and hence we remain living a very shallow life, without much ‘life’. It’s no wonder. The purpose of body oriented psychotherapy is to release such blocks and allow the free flow of sexual energy.

Repressed emotions can range from anger, hate, sadness, laughter (yes!), sex, love, greed, jealousy.   An interesting point to note is that, we are all afraid to breathe deeply as we would touch and release these emotions and it is very hurtful. We are afraid to feel the pain of repressed emotions and hence keep deep breathing at bay. We don’t know of our repressive attitudes, totally unaware of what we have done to ourselves. It is natural that we are unaware as everyone is living the same way; no one shows any sense of ‘armouring.’ It is ‘normal’ and that is why it goes unnoticed.

A small experiment with deep breathing reveals the energy produced by it and consequently one can become more aware of one’s blocks once this energy is awakened.

Enlightenment is nothing but our sexual energy (known as Kundalini) reaching our skull.

There is a whole lot of literature out there on chakras, Wilhelm Reich, Osho and the rest of it. I am writing this as I have experimented with it and have got some startling results and I am still startled by it. I hope this testimony helps someone to at least be experiential towards these things. Though I cannot show how it changed me but can leave you with a word: energy. That is the crux of it all, from what I've realized. Sexual energy is the energy of our life, the only energy! It is said to be a creative force in many Eastern traditions, especially in Yoga and Tantra. Besides, it costs nothing to take a few deep breaths and see it for yourself.

I am available if anyone needs links to such literature.

Bliss through perversions.

Sex, pornography, breasts, masturbation are words with heavy negative connotations attached them. One’s attention is easily diverted towards them. No wonder we have advertisements, movies and music videos showing us girls dressed in scanty clothes and camera angles intentionally angled the way they are (check out Bill Hick's ultimate ad). Words like God don’t have as much popularity, mainly among the youths.

Pornography is a booming industry in the west with so many sites which provide free access to millions (I may be exaggerating, but I hope you get the point) of free videos and pictures. Teenagers to oldies (maybe, I don't know, you tell me) watch pornography and not just watch it. ;)

According to Merriam Webster, to pervert something is to turn aside from what is good, true or morally right, that is, to corrupt something or someone. Basically, it means that it’s the wrong thing to do as opposed to the right thing. Usually, a sexual behaviour or desire which is considered unacceptable..

So maybe you are thinking that I'm going to rant against pornography, that it's a bad thing?

Is it? Obviously it objectifies women as sex objects, gives violent ideas about lovemaking, depicts women to be slaves etc.

What can one do when he/she is not allowed to have sex?

Our moral codes dictate that we have to get married to a person to have sex. Nature provided us with sexual urge but no doctrine of marriage. At the age of around 16 to 17 puberty has almost reached its peak. To be blunt, society has ‘castrated’ us. It has made us blind to our sexual energies by making us believe their ideologies are true. Especially in a country like India we have left everyone dry like barren deserts.

Anyone who has made love in his/her life and/or also had sex can tell these were the most ecstatic moments of their lives (obviously one of the most!). Even an orgasm that is achieved through masturbation is such a joy. And trust me, it is simply wonderful. :)

Gently caressing each and every part of your partner’s body, hearing the moans and gasps, hair standing on its end, tickling, kissing, hugging and discovering. It’s such a joy that in those moments every else goes for a toss. Sex is your birthright and you should have it!

The rapes are nothing but violent outlets of repressed sexual urge. Our society is not free; we have been wound up tight. We need to unwind. This ideology of “sex only after marriage” can destroy our development. Walls need to be broken and people should come close and mingle. Sexual repression has adverse effects on our body, mind and soul; we cannot be at ease.

Maslow’s pyramid (anyone remembers?) has sex at the base of the pyramid.

Today, we aren’t allowed by our own laws, ideologies and culture, to experience ecstasy, naturally! (yea, not through MDMA) We have to turn to other outlets. Yes, pornography is a perversion as the ‘good’ and ‘natural’ thing would be to actually experience the thing rather than being a peeping tom. But what can one do?

People who masturbate are helpless. Society has created such a suicidal atmosphere. At least pornography gives a little relief. So pornography is not necessarily bad. Though, I still say that it is unnatural.

Ideas that pornography suggest through their videos are often violent. There also we need to be careful as to where is it going inhuman. Romantic and soft versions should be preferred as they should be properly edifying when one actually lands in a real situation.
Partner should be respected, it’s not only about ‘me’, a quality of love are only a few advices.

I hope you get my point.  :)

Starry Skies

Starry skies, velvet darkness illuminated by moon rays. A mind which shrugs its worries for a sublime moment enjoys the experience to the fullest. Intentions left for themselves and hurried down the ear. Hype builds, pushing the system to new found levels.
The machines would instruct him, he obeyed them all along. Give him a veil to cover this bedlam. ”Who did this? Who do I tell? Where is my soul?” He lost it to the cosmic boggles of his vision. So spectacular with eyes so shinny, he made his way back gazing at the sky. He is tired. He lost his soul to the sea above. For him the journey never ends. Grasped by this majestic might he didn’t realize about the fears that he had and the strengths that he possessed. All he could decipher was the constellations and the movement of the earth. He never studied something so astounding though it always prevailed above him.
His time has come. He dies slowly with utmost precaution; taking in, savoring his last beautiful sights. Too tired, too exposed and too anxious he waits for his final stage to arrive. Strangely he just lays back and forgetting why he was there, why he was born and why would time pass, he gazes still. Tardily his body degenerates and his soul comes back to him with memories intensifying his essence as a being.

SHIT!!

Recently, during my trip to Munnar I read an article in the local newspaper.

A certain group of a 6th semester Engineering students were about to do a mini project for the college.
It went like this: apparently in Munnar 350 tones of elephant shit gets deposited. Why? Why...I mean why do you want to gauge shit? 350 tones of what....SHIT...Why in the world are you cared about SHIT? Ok...that’s just for starters. (I don’t know how the hell these people would’ve measured this SHIT)

Ok....now, they want to RECYCLE the SHIT.

I SHIT you not....!!..They wanted to recycle it!!!

And how...they would wash the dung (thank me for being decent) to finer particles because apparently the dung contains some kind of particles that help in generating electricity. Now they are so desperate for electricity that they have turned their interest on feces of animals. Amongst all the clouds, the lovely Eastern Ghats, the never ending tea plantations, rain and overpriced food in the resort, I was there laughing over that report.

Well I think there are more serious issues in Munnar than using dung as a product of generation of electricity. Elephants are less in number. There is a significant drop in the number of elephants in all over Kerala. If you ask me, I think that’s more important. But, humans would be humans; they would always try to exploit everything in the world, no wonder if it is SHIT. Next time I visit Munnar I might probably hear news of these engineers who would plug in cables in their assholes and claim on this being a way to produce energy.

I'm sorry for sounding like a grumpy old man. However, my views on this has changed as I do believe that is a beneficial venture. Forgive me, I was a kid. :)
